The Mala has been around for over 3000 years to support humanity in seeking peace, calm, and connection to Oneness. Rooted in Hinduism and Buddhism, mala beads are now considered an important ritual tool for any spiritual seeker. They traditionally have 108 beads and are created by different crystals to increase the potency of what you seek. Historians have also discovered beaded garlands that are 70,000 years old from the southern tip of Africa.
Clearly, having a handful of beads to support your mantra and meditation has a powerful and rich history. The actual word "Mala" translates into garland in English. Bead comes from "bede", which means to pray.

Our current collection of Malas comes from India, giving the soft spiritual energy that makes your mala feel vibrationally alive as you hold it.
Each strand is approx 108 beads. Below is a list of the crystals we have and each bead varies in color, hue, and size.

How to use
- Traditional use of Japa Mala Beads (Japa means to utter in a low voice) is to sit in meditation and hold the mala beads in one hand between the thumb and middle finger. Chant the mantra "OM" as you "turn" each bead away from you.
- You may also inhale and exhale with each bead, gently moving each one as you do so.
- You may choose other mantras such as Om Mane Padme Aum, I AM, Love, etc. Your intuition will guide you through the process. When your intention is about seeking a higher way of being, you can't use your mala wrong.
- Feel free to wear your mala. Drape it around your neck, layer them, or wrap it around your wrist.
- Have it on your desk during the day so that you can easily reach for it and get a dose of its magic.
How to clean
Your Blessed Malas come to you cleansed and abundantly blessed. After a period of time, you may want to cleanse them with our Blessed Spray as the stones collect energy and store it. You may also place it out in the sunlight for 30 minutes, or lay it out at night during the new moon. This will cleanse the stones.
There is something called the karmic cycle of broken mala. This means if your mala breaks after a bit of time, it is no longer needed for whatever purpose you brought it in. The karmic cycle is complete. Give it a blessing and toss the beads into mother earth.
Should something should happen to your mala within 30 days and you are not ready to release the intention, let us know and we will take care of you.
